What We’re All About

A retro diner with a modern twist!

Offering classic American comfort foods while also catering to modern palates and diets.

Step into the past with a hand crafted soda from our old fashioned soda fountain and a bite of our
homemade pie à la mode, enjoyed either at our long bar or cozy booth.

Sit, relax, and admire the exposed brick walls, original wood floors, restored tin ceiling,
and a big skylight in the dining room. On our menu you will find juicy burgers and fries,
healthy salads and bowls, and a Midwestern take on international favorites
such as poutine, falafel wrap, and a poké bowl.

About Us

From Winga to Santoro

Winga's Cafe opened in this building on April 18th, 1928 and was passed down from John Sr. to John Jr.
96 years later, the Santoro family has reopened it as the Northside Diner, once again serving the community with quality food at affordable prices for generations to come.
